Made of light (145g/m2) and strong polyester fabric with a waterproof polyurethane backing. The water column of the fabric is 8000 mm, the seams are taped to make them waterproof and the zippers are rubber-coated for driving and splash-proof.
The Aboa Antarctica sled coverall was designed in cooperation with the Finnish Meteorological Institute's arctic research group. The overall is an excellent choice for snowmobilers and arctic conditions.
The Aboa Antarctica sled coverall is made of light (145g/m2) and strong polyester fabric with a waterproof polyurethane backing. The water column of the fabric is 8000 mm, the seams are taped to make them waterproof and the zippers are rubber-coated for driving and splash-proof. The thermal insulation is the Climashield® Apex hollow fiber thermal insulation used by the US Army in winter equipment and sleeping bags, the air cavities of which act as a particularly good thermal storage. The light fabric and advanced thermal insulation enable good mobility and make the coverall almost half lighter than most of its competitors.
The overalls are available in four lengths:
Short/Short: 160-170 cm
Normal/Regular: 170-180 cm
Long/Long: 180-190 cm
Extra long: 190-200 cm
Color options: olive green and petrol blue.
The Aboa Antarctica sled coverall is made of light 145g/m2 and strong polyester fabric with a waterproof polyurethane backing. The water column is 8000 mm, the seams are taped to make them waterproof and the zippers are windproof and splashproof. The thermal insulation is the Climashield® Apex hollow fiber thermal insulation used by the US Army in winter equipment and sleeping bags, the air cavities of which act as a particularly good thermal storage. The thin fabric and advanced thermal insulation allow for flexible movements and makes the coverall almost half the weight of most others. Choose the best or nothing.
The lining fabric is a tight 45g/m2 polyamide fabric. The lining fabric and thermal insulation are not quilted together, but the insulation is attached to the seams, so there are no cold bridges formed by needle holes in the quilting.
The coverall has eight pockets. The spacious hand warmer pockets and radio pockets have a soft brushed microfleece lining. The spacious, expandable thigh pockets fit gloves and a fur cap well inside. The side chains of the pants open from the sacrum downwards, making it possible, if necessary, to drop the entire back part down without taking the overalls off.
The thermal cross on the back can be placed in the insulation pocket from the zipper on the cross back. The insulation is 5 mm cellular plastic laminate. 1 piece of thermal insulation and knee pads from the same material is delivered with the overalls.
The front of the coverall can be opened all the way up to make it easier to put the coverall on with shoes on. The lower part of the legs has sturdy, adjustable buttonhole rubber snow locks that close around the shoe when the zipper is closed. The snow and wind tightness of the leg openings can still be ensured with velcro straps. The mouths and the inside of the legs are reinforced with Cordura fabric.
Velcro tapes have been tested to withstand 10,000 openings, still retaining 64% of their original fastening force. The waist has 2 pieces. D-loops for attaching the kill switch and accessories.
A fixed hood adopted from the Air Force's Arctic Airforce cold jacket. The hood has an adjustment option on top of the head, height adjustment of the cap and cord adjustments on the front, sides and back. The elbows and knees of the coverall have shape pleats to improve mobility.
The waist circumference is tightened with a 40mm rubber band. The tightening of the waist can be adjusted with the Velcro on the sides. The inside of the coverall has 40mm Velcro adjustable hexes.
Tested by reindeer herders in freezing temperatures of -40 C and found to work.
