The Alcosense Breathalyser Excel is a test winner with excellent accuracy and functionality.
• 48 mm TFT screen in full color • Works with all country limits • Recalibration warning • Breathing volume calculation with temperature compensation • Eliminates false readings with too low a result
Designed by AlcoSense in the UK, the Excel uses the same award-winning design as the AlcoSense Pro and Ultra. It offers a state-of-the-art fuel cell breathalyzer with excellent accuracy and functionality.
The Excel uses a 64mm² version of the exact same 200mm² fuel cell sensor used in police breathalyzers in many UK, American and European countries and in our AlcoSense Ultra. Many brands claim to have "police gauges" or similar just because they use a fuel cell sensor. But not all fuel cell sensors are the same... Excel's sensors are identical to the ones used by the police, just smaller. It gives Excel unmatched accuracy at this price point.
The most accurate way to measure alcohol in exhaled breath is to measure deep lung air. To access this air, the user must blow out 1 liter of air before taking a reading. If the reading is taken too soon, the ventilator may give low or inconsistent readings. Most competing products at this price level rely on a timer to estimate when 1 liter of air has been consumed. However, users blow at different pressures, which means that the actual exhaled volume during measurement may vary. This means that the measurement can be taken at the wrong time, showing the wrong reading to the user.
AlcoSense Excel detects the exhaled volume during measurement and takes a reading when 1 liter of air has been consumed, ensuring the most accurate and consistent measurement. To improve accuracy, readings are fine-tuned by temperature - so whether it's a heat wave or the worst snowstorm in 30 years, Excel will compensate for temperature to ensure the best possible accuracy.
The accuracy tolerance of each breathalyzer is +/- X,XX of the reading - the lower the number, the more accurate the breathalyzer's measurement. AlcoSense Excel has smart built-in software to eliminate false reading - eg instead of +/- 0.1‰ BAC tolerance, AlcoSense Pro's tolerance is + 0.10‰ BAC, -0.00‰ BAC. This means that Excel always reads the result slightly higher - rather than lower - just to be sure, the result is more than twice as accurate as the award-winning AlcoSense Elite.
With a simple menu system, AlcoSense Excel can be set to any border anywhere in the world. You can adjust the reading unit between mg/l (breath alcohol) and ‰ BAC (blood alcohol concentration) as well as blood alcohol limit and breath ratio. If you travel abroad, you only need to set three parameters according to the table in the user manual.
The AlcoSense Excel features a full color 1.8 inch (48 mm) TFT screen that displays your clear and detailed alcohol levels in your choice of breath (mg/L) or blood (‰ BAC) measurement. If you are close to or over the selected limit, Excel will warn you to drive.
All breathalyzers require recalibration after a certain period of use. AlcoSense Excel has an industry-leading 12-month calibration period from the first use of the product. For reliability and ease of use, AlcoSense Excel will remind you to calibrate after 11 months of use.
Alcosense breathalyzer Excel has dimensions 107 x 55 x 29 mm, weight 147g including batteries and 48mm TFT color display. Includes 3 x AAA batteries, 5 professional nozzles, Micro USB cable and user manual.
