This is mainly an add-on for the new, Carcassonne 2015 version, but also works with the 2004 installation.

Churches and Churches brings Carcassonne churches and churches. The package contains 18 new tiles, 6 tiles that make scoring easier, the sixth player's checkers and a new big checker for each player.
Ten of the tiles are the same as before, but add new interesting shapes to the game (a couple of examples: a monastery with a road going through it, and a tile with four city pieces). Churches are city tiles that increase the value of the city (three points per tile). Kievars are on the sides of the roads and increase the point value of the road to two points per tile.
The catch with the new tiles is that they prevent unfinished structures from being scored. If the church town is not completed, you don't get any points for it. So you can be sure that other players will do their best to sabotage the church town or the winding road.
The new big pieces are an interesting addition: a giant piece matches two smaller ones when deciding the winners of the structures. Their shrewd placement brings a lot of different possibilities. The sixth player enables even bigger games. The increase in the number of tiles also extends the length of the games.
Kirkot and Kievarit is a great purchase for Carcassonne fans. It brings a nice new flavor to the base game, without upsetting the game's balance too much.
