The Advanced VX (AVX) sets the standard for mid-range telescopes, offering many of the features found in Celestron's most advanced German equatorial mounts at a very affordable price. The six-inch Advanced VX mirror telescope does not block the aperture, and at a focal length of f/8, the telescope offers the highest possible contrast when viewing celestial bodies, especially the planets. The Advanced VX mount is designed to provide better performance for smaller telescopes, utilizing Celestron's most advanced technology: All-Star Polar Alignment, Celestron's PWI telescope software, SkyAlign and Permanently Programmable Periodic Error Correction (PPEC).

Computerized German equatorial stand

The Advanced VX is the smallest of Celestron's German equatorial tripods The computerized GoTo feature automatically tracks objects as they move across the night sky. The Advanced VX stand includes ports for manual control, automatic control and 2 AUX ports for accessories. The NexStar+ hand controller gives you instant access to all the functions your stand has to offer. With automatic rotation and menu descriptions, any level of astronomer will master this tripod after just a few observing sessions. The Advanced VX also features a class-leading tripod with 2-inch diameter steel legs that provide an extra-wide stance for improved stability.

Payload capacity
The payload of the Advanced VX is about 14 kg. **Double rail
**As of early 2019, Advanced VX tripods include a dual rail that accommodates both CG-5 and CGE type dovetails. Changing the dual rails is as easy as moving the hand knobs to different holes. You can use the Advanced VX tripod with almost any optical tube within its weight limits. Compatible with 100mm or longer Vixen standard dovetails, not compatible with Losmandy D standard rails (regardless of rail manufacturer).
