Inside the padded plastic case you will find the following accessories:
1.25” 15 mm Kellner eyepiece
1.25” 6 mm Plossl eyepiece
1.25” with 2x Barlow lens thread
1.25” #80A Blue filter
1.25” #25 Red filter
1.25” Moon filter
Microfiber cloth
The eyepieces can be used with all 1.25 inch focusing telescopes. Each eyepiece is fully coated to improve light transmission and protect the optics. The 15mm Kellner eyepiece gives you a nice mid-level magnification with most telescopes, while the 6mm Plossl eyepiece provides the highest magnification, which under the right conditions will allow you to see the Moon and planets with excellent clarity. 2x Barlow Lens - Place the 2x Barlow lens between the eyepiece and the telescope to double the magnification. any 1.25 inch eyepiece magnification. This means that the power of the 15mm Kellner eyepiece included in this package is doubled, making it equivalent to a 7.5mm eyepiece, and the 6mm eyepiece gives you the same magnification as a 3mm eyepiece. Any other 1.25 eyepiece works on the same principle, so the possibilities are numerous. Remember, however, that high magnification does not always produce an accurate and clear image, especially in bad weather, considering the conditions. Test and experiment to find the best settings for you and your telescope. The Barlow lens has threads, with which it can also be attached to an SLR camera.
Filters- Colored filters can be used to bring out the planet's surface contours or its cloud formations. Both planetary filters, as well as the lunar filter, can be used in any 1.25 inch eyepiece with the correct Filter Thread, making them very versatile. Screw the filter into the eyepiece of your choice and slide it into the focuser. #80A is a blue-toned filter that emphasizes the contrast in, for example, Jupiter's cloud belt and Saturn's polar ice caps. It can also be used to improve contrast when looking at the Moon, if the color distortion doesn't bother you. #25 is a deep red filter and a good choice when you want to focus on the polar ice caps of Mars. The filter also works when looking at Jupiter. The red #25 filter filters quite a bit of light as it enters the telescope optics, so it works best for bright objects in large aperture telescopes.
A lunar filter is often the first accessory a hobbyist astronomer buys, and for good reason! With it, the light reflected by the Moon can be limited and the details can be seen better. You should also look at Venus with the Moon filter - it shows the phases of the planet better.
Microfiber cloth & case: Store the microfiber cloth in the AstroMaster Accessory Kit case so it's always available. The microfiber cloth won't leave marks or scratches on the eyepieces that paper can, and it can be reused. Remember to blow or brush the dust off the optics before wiping with a microfiber cloth.
The black plastic case is durable, and padded on the inside. This way, the sensitive contents of the case are exposed to bumps as little as possible. Keep the accessories in their places when you are not using them, and they will stay like new for a long time.
