The optimized Nordic rubber compound consists of silicon dioxide, oil and carbon black. These components ensure higher performance. Silica improves performance on wet surfaces, thanks to the added oil it is possible to achieve better handling in winter conditions, while carbon black helps in the pursuit of excellent driving performance (durability). All in all, the tire's new rubber compound is optimized especially for Nordic roads.

The new VanContact ™ Ice offers effective and safe grip in all winter conditions. To ensure better grip and handling, the tire's lamellae lock when turning the wheel, stiffening the tread when cornering. This improves handling and braking performance in all snowy and icy driving conditions. In addition, a deeper area around the stud - the new Ramp Ice Reservoir - collects ice crumb between the road and the stud, allowing the stud to bite into the ice better, ensuring great performance on ice.

The brand new pin is made of hardened special steel. The stud is seamlessly connected to the tire's fabric compound to reduce stud loss over the tire's lifetime. Both the ring and the studs wear evenly, which ensures excellent interaction between the stud and the pattern, ensuring maximum performance.
