These carabiners manufactured by DMM are very light and durable.
By securing your hammock at both ends with these carabiners, you prevent rainwater from running under the hammock. The water stops in the carabiner and drips from it to the ground, instead of running under your hammock (see picture below).
Carabiners can be quickly opened and closed, making it easier to set up and pack. If you quickly need space under the tarp during the day, it is easy for you to move the hammock to the side if you have attached it with carabiners.
When you try the hammock for the first time with new attachment ropes, make sure that the knots are tight.
