Not quite an ordinary ED lens
The BDII-XD features Kowa's legendary double XD objective lens. This nature-friendly ED glass lens contains a lot of fluorite mineral, which has the best light transmission of known materials. Thanks to this, the view is clear from edge to edge of the image area without color bleeding. The coating technology developed by Kowa for decades completes the top-class light transmission for the lenses.

Reliable long-term durability
The frames of the BDII-XD series are made of magnesium alloy, which is as durable as steel but weighs much less. The light and durable construction withstands even the harshest conditions.
The magnesium frame is surrounded by rubber armor that provides an excellent grip and improves the binoculars' durability even more.
The binoculars are completely waterproof and are filled with nitrogen gas to prevent fogging of the lenses. Kowa's unique KR protective coating repels dirt and prevents the accumulation of stains on the lens surfaces.
