Breathable paint for new and old fireplace surfaces and firewalls. Gives a matte surface to objects whose temperatures can rise higher than normal. Suitable for brick and block surfaces, concrete, screed or plaster, and surfaces painted with lime, cement and silicate paint. Not suitable for painting natural stone or soapstone or directly on shiny metal without a metal primer.
Make sure that all the paint cans are from the same production batch or, alternatively, mix different batches together to avoid shade differences.
PRE-TREATMENT FOR NEW SURFACES: The new concrete, screed and plaster surface must be dried and hardened before surface treatment. Clean the surfaces of dust before painting. PRE-TREATMENT OF PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: Clean the surface of dirt and dust with e.g. Ilves Maalarinpesu. Remove flaky or loose surface layers. Patch the cracks and unevenness of the surface with a suitable screed and plaster surfaces with lime mortar. Use stone primer on porous and dusty surfaces before painting. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Protects the floor and other surrounding surfaces. Paint with a brush, roller or sprayer once or twice depending on the coverage required. Strong heating should be avoided for 2 weeks. GLOSS: Full matte. THINNER AND WASHING TOOLS: Water. COVERAGE: 3–5 m²/l, depending on surface roughness and porosity. DRYING TIME: Touch dry 2–4 h. Can be repainted in 12 hours. The recommended drying time is measured under standard conditions at a temperature of +23 °C and a relative humidity (RH) of 50%. If the air humidity is higher and the temperature is lower, the drying time of the paint increases. WORKING CONDITIONS: The treated surface must be dry and dust-free. Air temperature at least +5 °C and relative air humidity below 80%. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE: To be transported in an upright position and supported. Protect from freezing. DISPOSAL OF THE PACKAGING: Dispose of the empty can in mixed waste or in accordance with local sorting instructions. Liquid surplus paint is delivered in a jar for hazardous waste collection.
