MBB (Multi-bus-bar) means that the solar cell is equipped with 12 or 16 busbars instead of 4, 5 or 6. In this way, higher power and better reliability are achieved.
MBB uses thin, rounded copper wires that do not require strips across the solar cell. The rounded cross-section improves optical performance because more light is reflected into the solar cell.


PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact) solar cell structure, where the layer behind the cell is a so-called passive. As the name suggests, the passive layer passively prevents radiation from getting wasted through the cell's background.

Half Cut technology increases panel production by reducing the size of the cells. Double the number of small cells can fit in the panel. Smaller cells last better, so half-cut solar panels can be expected to have a longer service life. Kontio Solar's monocrystalline cell is split into two parts with a laser. Two parallel solar cells produce energy more efficiently independently of each other. When, for example, the shadow of trees falls on the cell of the solar panel, the upper cell continues its energy production at full power. Smaller cells also mean lower internal resistance, i.e. lower current loss and lower temperature = more electricity production for you.



Anti PID (potential-induced degradation)
Kontio Solar's Anti PID technology significantly reduces the PID phenomenon, among other things, with high-quality quartz glass, which naturally contains sodium. Potential-induced breakdown (PID) in solar panels is caused by a significant potential difference between the semiconductor material (the cell) and other parts of the module, such as glass, fasteners or the aluminum body. Kontio Solar's grounding technology also helps limit the PID phenomenon.
