Makita's DGA506 battery-powered angle grinder is a very powerful professional tool that achieves the performance of a corded machine. When the machine is heavily loaded, the speeds drop to a level that the electronic unit is able to keep stable under load. In the event of overload, the machine is stopped. The machine's LED light will turn green when the automatic speed control is activated for high loads. The red LED indicates an overload situation when the machine has been stopped and must be restarted. The electronic brake stops the spindle rotation quickly when the machine is switched off at the power switch.

Removable dust shields prevent harmful dust from being carried inside the machine with the cooling air and should be cleaned regularly to maximize airflow. Soft start and restart protection increase safety in operation. Soft start eliminates the dangerous rotation of the machine in the operator's hand when starting the machine. Restart protection is activated when the operating switch has been left in the on position and a dead battery has been replaced - the machine will only start when the operating switch is released and restarted.
