The volume of the buoy plays an important role in the flexibility of the anchorage. The volume is appropriate for a buoy that will carry the chain well, but can be pulled below the water surface in rough weather or when the buoy is subjected to greater stress. The buoy weight should be sized to withstand high stress. The buoy attachment rod, with welded loops at both ends, shall be of a pierceable design.
NOTE! The buoy chain should be inspected at the beginning of each season to ensure that the material strength is adequate to withstand the stress of the boat in rough weather.
