Cast iron guarantees good frying properties, the pan heats up evenly and stays warm for a long time. Can withstand high heat and metal cooking utensils.
Clean the new pan by washing with a mild detergent or hot water, heat the pan dry and burn the fat immediately after cleaning as follows:
Wipe the pan with oil or spread Muurikka Silava thinly and evenly over the entire surface of the pan. The fat must not drip thickly onto the bottom of the pan, because when accumulated, the fat will burn into an uneven mass. Heat the pan hot with a gas burner, electric grill or coals so that the fat darkens and dries in the pan at least in the middle of the pan. You can wash the pan again and do the fat treatment again as needed. You can repeat greasing and heating until the pan turns black, but this is not necessary, the pan will darken and patina more with use.
Always wash the pan with water only, do not use washing-up liquid.
