Many people remember PEZ candies and their funny dispensers from their childhood. The characters have changed many times over the years and still closely follow the latest trends in the children's world. The rarest and oldest dispensers are valuable collectibles. Originally designed as a breath freshener for adults, the candy has already become a children's favorite in 90 countries. An Austrian grocer invented peppermint pastille in 1927, which was first sold in tin cans. For reasons of hygiene, a patent was developed in the fifties for a device that dispensed one candy at a time. At the time, the candy dispenser intended for adults resembled a cigarette lighter because its designer wanted to offer smokers a healthier alternative. Only later did PEZ become a children's product.
