In many cases, in subwoofers made for sound pressure use, the starting point of the design is only the production of maximum sound pressure. Most subwoofers made for pressure use are therefore not very flattering in sound quality, but the Phoenix Gold ZMAX122 is a welcome exception to the rule.
Phoenix Gold's ZMAX122 subwoofer received a full five stars in the Car & Hifi test for both sound pressure and sound quality.
The 12″ subwoofer has a powder coated cast body, three inch 2 x 2 ohm voice coil, 195oz triple magnet, glued & sewn top suspension, very efficient voice coil cooling. The element works perfectly in the reflex housing, the details of which you can find below.
A ready-made housing is available for the ZMAX122 subwoofer: ZB112P
