The Princeton Catalyst™ Wedge patterning combs are ergonomically shaped silicone tools that fit perfectly in the hand, enabling direct interaction between the work and the artist. Combs can be used like palette knives and are also perfectly suited for priming large painting surfaces. The comb is also an excellent tool for creating various surface textures and patterns with thick acrylic colors and impasto techniques; the texturing possibilities with these tools are almost limitless. Artists also use combs with ceramics, plasters, clay and other masses as sculpting and model tools. The tools are heat-resistant (up to 232C max). Catalyst tools are easy to clean: the silicone is easy to wipe clean and it is solvent-resistant. The tools can be easily washed with mild soap and water or cleaned in the dishwasher. Dry paint can also be peeled off the silicone surface easily. The tools are made of FDA-approved silicone, so all Catalyst series products are safe for food use, which makes them ideal for baking as well.
