Before dyeing, the leather/hide is cleaned with a leather cleaner to remove grease.
Apply several layers of leather color if you want a darker shade. If you want a lighter shade, you thin the color with leather color thinner.
Post-treat with leather grease because the leather dye dries out the leather/hide.
