The Samyang AF 18mm f/2.8 FE is a particularly compact and lightweight ultra-wide-angle lens for Sony E / FE mounts. With a 100-degree diagonal viewing angle (with full-frame sensors), it is especially suitable for landscape photography, architecture and urban photography, and close-up photography, thanks to its 25 cm close focusing distance.
An excellent travel lens
Although Samyang's new wide-angle lens is designed especially for full-frame cameras, it is also suitable for Sony's A6xxx series cameras with a smaller APS-C sensor. With a smaller sensor, its performance is closer to a wide-angle universal lens (28mm cinema equivalent), which is well suited for group photos, travel photography and urban photography.
Weighing just 145 grams, the Samyang AF 18mm f/2.8 FE is also one of the lightest full-frame lenses in its class, making it an excellent choice when traveling places limits on the number and size of your camera equipment - and you don't have to compromise on image quality and functionality.

Thanks to the linear-STM motor, the Samyang AF 18mm f/2.8 FE focuses both quickly and silently, also suitable for video shooting.
Although the design of the lens has focused on a compact size, the image quality has not been compromised in the slightest. The optical structure includes 9 elements mounted in 8 groups. These include 3 aspherical elements that minimize distortions and ensure sharp focus from corner to corner of the image area, 2 high refractive index elements (HR-glass) and 3 low dispersion elements (ED) that prevent reflections and chromatic aberration (color bleed).
The advanced anti-reflection UMC (Ultra Multilayer Coating) removes stray light and ensures the best contrast and brightness even in difficult lighting conditions.
