Planting orchids in Seramis is simple, but should be done before or after flowering.
•Water the orchid the day before (to strengthen the roots).
•Remove the orchid from the old pot and remove the old growing medium and moss as well as possible.
•Cut off the dead and damaged parts of the orchid's roots using sharp, clean scissors. Use a slightly larger pot from which excess water will drain away easily.
•Put a small amount of Seramis in the bottom of the pot. Place the orchid roots in the pot in a 'twisting' motion so that all the roots reach the pot.
•Fill the pot with Seramis, making sure that the orchid is planted at the same level as before.
•When the pot is full, gently tap the pot to ensure that the growing medium is slightly compacted and makes good contact with the roots.
•Water the orchid to allow the Seramis to soak up moisture, but ensure that any excess water drains away easily.
