Thanks to the integrated Class B AIS transceiver, you can see nearby AIS vessels and they can see your vessel. You can add up to two optional handset sets to the system, so you can communicate from anywhere on the ship.

See and be seen with integrated AIS

The RS40-B includes a Class B AIS transceiver that both receives AIS targets and reports your vessel's position to nearby AIS vessels. This way, other mariners will notice your vessel regardless of the conditions, day or night. The built-in AIS receiver monitors the position of nearby AIS vessels, helping to avoid collisions in congested ports and heavily trafficked waterways. AIS data can be viewed on the radio screen, on top of the map or on the radar screen via the multifunction display.

Detachable hand microphone

The detachable handheld microphone of the RS40-B radio can be connected to the front or back of the radio. With the optional extension cord, the microphone and radio can be installed separately. In this way, an easy and cost-effective solution can be created to be installed in any location without cable bundles. For example, the RS40-B can be mounted on the ceiling without hanging cables, while the microphone can be connected to an additional socket on the dashboard below.

Expandable with wireless handset sets

By connecting the optional HS40 handset set to the system, you can use the radio anywhere on the boat. Each set of handsets displays the radio's display and controls, so you can access all key functions remotely. Up to two sets of handsets can be connected to one RS40-B radio. The radio also works as your ship's intercom, when several sets of handsets are connected to it.

Note! The functionality of the radio requires a VHF antenna (sold separately). The functionality of the AIS antenna requires either another VHF antenna or a VHF/AIS antenna splitter. All DSC operations require an MMSI number issued by the local authority; obtaining a number may be subject to a fee.
