In the event of a power outage in the monitored network, the ATS senses the voltage drop and sends a signal to the generator, which starts supplying power to the interrupted power system within seconds. ATS monitors the entire outage and when it has verified that the grid voltage has returned to an acceptable level, ATS transfers the electrical load back to the grid and shuts down the generator. In normal standby mode, 12V power is supplied from the mains through the ATS to the generator's starting battery to ensure that it is fully charged.
