The players are renaissance jewelers with reputation and honor in mind. So not exactly the newest topic in the gaming world. However, the game itself is an addictive, fast-paced score-hoarding game with very high-quality components.
The game progresses at a brisk pace. On their turn, the player chooses one of the following options:
Purchased cards bring permanent gem production to the player (upper right corner), so towards the end of the game fewer chips are needed even though the prices of the cards increase during the game. The more expensive cards produce victory points that decide the winner. Additional points can be earned by attracting the nobility (top row of the picture) as customers by betting on real gem production cards.
Splendor is suitable for anyone over 10 years old, it can be played by 2-4 players at once and it contains rules in both Finnish and Swedish.
Game content:

- A: takes 3 different gem chips of his choice,
- B: takes two identical chips,
- C: reserves a card and takes a gold nugget (acts as a joker), or
- D: buys a card by paying its price (in the lower left corner of the card).
