The Sthor decibel meter provides an accurate and reliable way to measure sound levels in the 30-130 dB(A) measurement range. This compact and lightweight meter is designed to provide excellent portability and ease of use in a variety of environments such as industrial plants, offices, train and traffic noise measurement, and IT environments such as fan noise measurement.
Large numeric display, clear LCD screen, and intuitive functions make it easy to follow the measurement. The meter overflow alarm, Max/Min function, and Data Hold function add to the practicality by providing the ability to monitor sound extremes and lock measurements to the display for review. Automatic shutdown function after 10 minutes of inactivity saves batteries (can be disabled when the unit is switched on). The product is equipped with a 1/4'' tripod mount, allowing the meter to be positioned stably during measurement.

Using the product
Installing and replacing batteries
Open the battery compartment cover, remove any old batteries and install new batteries with correct polarity. Use good quality alkaline batteries for best performance.
Setting up the device
Switch on, the device will automatically measure the sound level and the results will be displayed on the screen. Do not move the meter abruptly during measurement. The HOLD button will lock the sound level displayed. The MIN/MAX button displays the minimum or maximum measured value. The instrument also allows you to set an alarm value above which the display backlight will flash.
Calibration
The product is factory calibrated, but we recommend calibrating the instrument at least once a year. Calibration requires a reference sound source. Do not calibrate without a reference sound source as this may lead to erroneous measurement results.
Maintenance and storage
The product does not require any special maintenance. Clean the housing and microphone with a soft, slightly damp cloth and then dry. Store the product under the conditions indicated and away from moisture, dust and direct sunlight.
