This electrode is completely additive-free, i.e. contains only pure tungsten. This electrode is used for alternating current (AC) welding of aluminum. The arc of a clean electrode is very stable. WP electrodes cannot be used when welding with direct current (DC).
Since different TIG electrodes all have their own good properties, choosing the right electrode is important.
